Daylilies Blooming

Post published 6/29/11:

This photo shows a slice of garden bloom from last summer, 2010. Currently the garden is getting packed with daylilies in bud, 5-10% to start blooming now. We love early bloom, and always look forward to mid July bloom shown in the photo below. Then, in August we look forward to late bloom.

Upper Garden at Hardy Daylily Garden

Post published 6/29/11:

At the garden in front of our house, this is what we call the upper garden. We keep some sculptures, named varieties, and daylily seedlings in this section. As the terrain is at a slope and this is the top of the slope, hence the name. This photo is from last summer at peak bloom.

We Look Forward to Seeing Everyone in the Garden

This summer we open this coming Thursday. Our garden hours can be found at the links above.

The photo below shows peak bloom in the lower garden from last summer, 2010. Currently we are approaching 5-10% bloom in the garden. The nice thing about early bloom is to begin the season in the garden with some great color. Early daylily plants are budded up and ready to bloom for weeks.

Article posted May 2011:

We are so looking forward to the 31st year of the Hardy Daylily Garden celebration!  We open June 30, 2011 and remain open Thursday-Sundays until August 7, 2011. The garden is looking wonderful right now with Mertensia and Magnolia trees to cheer us up after all the snow. Daylilies that were in pots outdoors, not at all protected, are coming up just fine. What an amazing, inspiring flower! Anyone who doubts the existence of a Higher Power should just visit us during this years bloom period.

Greeting to all flower lovers–see you soon!
